This project involved installing and relocating a new boiler ready for a home extension in Wimbledon. When you are having building work done, the last thing you want is to be left without heating and hot water. Our team worked alongside the builders to make sure the homeowner stayed warm throughout the project.
PROJECT OVERVIEW
The homeowner was having an extension built on their property, which meant the existing boiler needed to be moved to a new location. Rather than simply relocating the old unit, they decided it was the perfect time to upgrade to a brand new, energy-efficient boiler.
This kind of project requires careful planning and coordination with the building team. The new boiler position needed to work with the extended layout of the home, while also being installed at a time that fitted in with the construction schedule.
SOLUTIONS
Our Gas Safe registered engineers worked closely with the builders on site to plan and carry out the installation. The work included:
- Assessing the property and planning the best location for the new boiler
- Coordinating with the building team to avoid delays to the extension work
- Removing the old boiler and associated pipework
- Installing a new energy-efficient boiler in its new position
- Running new pipework to connect with the existing heating system
- Testing the system to ensure everything worked safely and efficiently
- Issuing all required Gas Safe certification
By timing the work carefully, we made sure the homeowner had continuous heating and hot water throughout the building project.
